“Uplifting Voices: Art That Speaks,” a community art program run by Uplift Center for Grieving Children, honors the
grief of the families who trust Uplift to walk alongside them after the death of someone loved. Our exhibition theme
Holding Grief: From Firsts to Always recognizes that grief is not confined to singular moments, but is an ongoing
journey, from the first moment without someone to every moment after. Uplift proudly displays art made by young
people and caregivers who joined us for three community art nights in the summer of 2026. Join us to hold space for
remembrance, creativity, and grief.

Uplift’s mission is to help children grieving a death to heal and grow through their grief while strengthening families, communities and professionals’ understanding of how best to respond to their needs. Annually, Uplift directly supports more than 1,000 children in Philadelphia through no-cost therapeutic grief support services offered across the City. Its team also educates adult professionals and community members through training workshops on recognizing and responding to children’s bereavement and trauma.

Event Partners
Sponsor Holding Grief: From Firsts to Always

Uplift’s Community of Care Partners support our work throughout the year and receive recognition across programs, communications, and community events. Partners help to:

  • Ensure grief support remains free and accessible for thousands of children and families each year.
  • Expand trauma informed, culturally responsive grief services throughout the region in 100 schools and community spaces.
  • Foster connection and reduce isolation for grieving children and families.
  • Raise awareness about the importance of grief support within our community by enabling Uplift to educate more than 1,000 teachers, counselors, social workers, and therapists each year.
  • Provide optional, personalized volunteer opportunities that allow your team to directly support our youth and families.
